Event Benefits Project: Back to School

On Friday, September 10, 2010, Capicu Poetry, God's Funky Children, and Xmental University got together at Notice Lounge in Williamsburg Brooklyn to raise money for Project: Back to School.

Attendees watched with amazement as break-dancers tore up the dance floor and listened thoughtfully as poets spoke about personal experiences of homelessness, relationships, and growing up in New York.

DJs and comedians made sure the crowd was always having a good time, and featured live music brought people to their feet.

Artists were also on hand to airbrush individualized designs on t-shirts and hats, as well as participate in a "paint war" in which two artists battled to finish a unique piece of art during the duration of the event which was later raffled off.

We truly appreciate the time and effort put into this event. With the money they raised, Xmental, Capicu, and GFC were able to purchase over 80 backpacks to help our drive!
