Today’s Read: Homeless Children Across America

This weekend's New York Times published some stunning photos of homeless children and young adults. Currently, there are 1.6 million homeless children living in the United States and their plights are often hidden from the general public. But here is a visual reminder of the epidemic of poverty and homelessness in this country, and also a call to bring the issue of child homelessness to the forefront of our national dialogue.

And as a local reminder, there are nearly 18,000 homeless children currently living in New York City shelters.
