N.Y. Politicians Create $15M Affordable Housing Pilot Program to Battle Homelessness

ALBANY — The recently enacted state budget creates a new affordable housing pilot program designed to help those who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing, the Daily News has learned.

The $15 million for the “Fair Market Rent” pilot plan pushed by Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi (D-Queens) and Sen. Jeffrey Klein (D-Bronx) will target 240 families who are about to become homeless or are already in the shelter system or living on the streets.
