Direct Service ProgramsThe Coalition Offers 11 Direct Service Programs to Address the Specific Needs of Homeless New Yorkers
In response to the increasing needs of homeless New Yorkers over the years, the Coalition has grown into a multifaceted direct service center that helps homeless individuals and families find homes and jobs, eat nutritious meals, further their education, and learn basic life skills. In the past year, the Coalition experienced a sharp rise in the number of individuals and families who seek our network of eleven direct service programs, which encompass four broad categories and are outlined below: Crisis Services provide a lifeline to homeless men, women and children who are in the midst of an emergency and require immediate relief.
Housing Programs address housing and employment challenges by providing homeless and low-income individuals with job skills and s homes.
Youth Services break the cycle of poverty by providing homeless boys and girls with tools to overcome the unique obstacles they face.
Job Training addresses employment challenges.
Our wide array of programs provides a comprehensive network of support for our clients. Combined with the Coalition's extensive partnership with other providers of high-quality supportive housing, physical and mental health, substance abuse, job training and placement, and other essential services, our programs enable high-risk homeless individuals and families to obtain and keep permanent housing and to realize the greatest possible degree of economic self-sufficiency.
