Anyone who has walked through Washington Square Park knows exactly how pervasive this problem has become. The good news is we are very close to breaking the cycle of poverty for tens of thousands of the most vulnerable people in our communities. The only thing we need to get them off the streets is a single piece of paper – a Memorandum of Understanding between the Governor and the leaders of the state Senate and Assembly.
