De Blasio spent nearly two hours visiting one of the city’s largest shelters, the 30th Street Intake Center, also known as the Bellevue Shelter, catering to hundreds of homeless men. “What’s very frustrating is so many of these men here didn’t have to be in this situation to begin with,” said de Blasio, who is battling the homeless problem on two fronts — getting people to come into shelters, and getting shelter residents moved into permanent housing.
