Safety Net, Winter 2010: The Changing Face of Hunger

In this edition of Safety Net, we feature the Coalition’s Grand Central Food Program, which provides up to 1,000 meals every night to homeless and hungry New Yorkers throughout Manhattan and the Bronx. In “A Night on the Route,” Sarah Murphy describes some of the changes we’ve seen in our clientele. In addition to the many homeless men we’ve served over the years, we now feed more people who have housing, but because of loss of job, disability, or countless other factors, they rely on the Coalition to get a hot meal.
