Sponsor Spotlight October 2019: AIG

The Coalition for the Homeless is proud to recognize AIG as our October 2019 featured sponsor. For the past seven years, AIG and its employees have dedicated their time, talents and financial resources to helping the Coalition serve homeless men, women in children throughout New York City.

In 2019 alone, AIG employees have handed out meals with the Grand Central Food Program, helped set up the campgrounds of Camp Homeward Bound, and provided a Corporate Day to the women of the First Step Job Training Program. AIG has also been a partner in the Coalition’s annual Project: Back to School donating and filling 1,000 brand new backpacks with school supplies at their downtown NYC offices.

Here’s some of the amazing work AIG volunteers have done in 2019:

AIG hosts its first Corporate Day for the Coalition’s First Step Job Training Program in honor of International Women’s Day at their downtown NYC offices in March 2019. AIG volunteers helped our First Step students with resume review, personal branding, interviewing and more!
AIG volunteers serve food at the first stop of the Grand Central Food Program during AIG’s Global Volunteer month in April.
AIG volunteers returned to Camp Homeward Bound in May for an afternoon of painting, raking and repairs. Their hard work was invaluable to helping us get CHB ready for the more than 300 homeless girls and boys who joined us this summer.
In August, AIG hosted a Project: Back to School volunteer event at their downtown NYC offices. Over the course of the morning, employees filled 1,000 backpacks with school supplies. It was a great way to kick-off this year’s drive!
AIG is the October sponsor of the Grand Central Food Program! Their generous sponsorship will help us provide meals to 10,000 New Yorkers experiencing homelessness this month.

We cannot begin to thank AIG enough for all of their generous support in 2019 and over the past seven years. With their help, we’ve been able to help tens of thousands of New Yorkers with food and job training, as well as provide thousands of children experiencing homelessness with backpacks and school supplies, unforgettable summers of learning and fun, and magical holiday seasons.
