ARTWALK NY will bring together artists, art lovers, and other compassionate New Yorkers to celebrate the profound impact of the arts community on our society and support the vital work of the Coalition for the Homeless. This year’s event will feature not only silent and live art auctions and a cocktail party, but also a special seated dinner during the program. Our silent auction will feature original plates created by nearly 100 artists and will be available for bidding online.

The Coalition for the Homeless is a leading New York direct service and advocacy organization providing assistance to over 3,500 homeless individuals daily. Since 1981, the Coalition has helped more than one million New Yorkers transition from homelessness to housing security through comprehensive services including emergency food and clothing distribution, eviction prevention, crisis intervention, permanent housing solutions, vocational training, and specialized youth programs.

Artist Honoree – Sheree Hovsepian
Sheree Hovsepian (American b.Iran) earned an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2002.

Hovsepian’s work highlights the physicality of the photograph and photography’s relationship to the human body. Coaxed into sculptural forms, layered with tactile materials, and assembled into larger compositions, her work oscillates between object and image, creating an embodied experience of the photographic document.

Hovsepian was included in the 59th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia, The Milk of Dreams, curated by Cecilia Alemani. Recent exhibitions include solo presentations at Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York and Halsey McKay Gallery, East Hampton, NY. Hovsepian was included in Love Songs-Photography and Intimacy at the International Center for Photography, NYC as well asAffinities for Abstraction: Women Artists on Eastern Long Island, 1950-2020, Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, NY.

Hovsepian is in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Bronx Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Everson Museum of Art, among others. She currently lives and works in New York City.
