Faith Leaders Push State Leaders on Housing MOU

With the legislative session entering its final three days, a coalition of more than 130 faith-based leaders on Tuesday is calling on Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the top lawmakers in the Senate and Assembly to sign a memorandum of understanding backing 6,000 units of supportive housing.

The groups plan to hold a news conference at the Capitol on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. to push for the MOU, which was part of a broader budget agreement in April. The news conference is also scheduled to include Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi, who chairs the chamber’s Social Services Committee.
