Colangelo A new city program to stock pantries with free food will help homeless students in 16 public schools across the five boroughs, the Daily News has learned. The $595,000 program funded by City Council aims to help address the exploding population of homeless and hungry students in city classrooms. It’s the first time city money has been used to fund pantries in the public schools.
