Freezing Temperatures Trigger ‘Code Blue’ Warning in NYC, With Outreach Workers Trying to Get Homeless Into Shelters

The freezing temps triggered a city-wide “Code Blue” warning that had outreach workers fanning the streets during the overnight to convince wary homeless people to come into shelters.

City Hall said that 30 homeless individuals were brought in from the cold last night, when the temps dipped as low as 22 degrees with a low wind chill of 9 degrees.
