Mayor de Blasio Starts Task Force to Help Build 15,000 Apartments for the Formerly Homeless

Mayor de Blasio announced a new task force to help him build 15,000 units of supportive housing Tuesday, the latest in a slew of announcements to show he’s on top of the city’s homelessness crisis.

The announcement came a day ahead of Gov. Cuomo’s State of the State address — where he’s expected to announce a more muscular state intervention into city homelessness policy. De Blasio said he plans to meet privately with his rival the governor, as well as state legislators.
