March 24, 2021 Coalition for the Homeless By Dave Giffen The following statement from Dave Giffen, Executive Director at Coalition for the Homeless, was released in response to the racist acts of violence against members of the AAPI community in Atlanta, New York City, and elsewhere. “The Coalition for the Homeless joins the courageous voices calling for an end to anti-AAPI violence and discrimination in New York and wherever it occurs. We at the Coalition have seen time and again how racism, ignorance, and hatred can destroy lives and the very fabric of our society. There can be no real recovery from this pandemic until all Asian New Yorkers feel safe, and until all in our city are treated with dignity and compassion.”
