More than 24,000 of them are children. 2015 has seen the highest numbers of homeless ever in city history. Coalition for the Homeless CEO Mary Brosnahan supports the Mayor Bill de Blasio’s new plan to send rapid repair crews to shelters so families will be safe. But she says more needs to be done.
